Last week we celebrated World Refugee Day, honoring the strength, resilience, and courage of refugees everywhere. As an organization, we celebrate world refugee day every day and we are dedicated to the rights of all refugees. We are deeply committed to uplifting both their voices and their struggles until their return.
LEAP’s work comes from a place of deep solidarity with the Palestinian refugee community who have been living in exile in Lebanon since their expulsion from their homeland in 1948. Our mission emphasizes both the power of our students to become agents of change, as well as the responsibility of our volunteers to uplift the voices of the refugee community in Lebanon when they return to their home communities.
As the start of Project SHINE and Project MUSIC quickly approach, we ask you to please continue to our efforts in advancing the right to education for Palestinian refugee youth in Lebanon. This labor of love is only sustained through your kindness and donations. We are nearly 60% of the way toward our $20,000 goal. With only one week before our summer program starts, we ask you to dig deep and invest in the power of youth. Your donations will directly impact the community by allowing 400 youth to participate in a summer experience which we hope will provide them with not only educational enrichment, but also cultivate their creativity within a nurturing environment.
